Job Description:
The School of Linguistic Sciences and Arts invites researchers to join an interdisciplinary team of researchers in the above-mentioned research areas. Candidates with a doctoral degree in the above-mentioned research areas are preferred. Candidates with a strong research background and a publication record are most desirable. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is not a prerequisite. For non-native Chinese applicants, strong competence of English is required. Preference is also given to candidates with experience or background in brain image technology (i.e. fMRI, eye-tracking, ERPs).
Salaries are competitive, including monthly salary, free housing, medical insurance, pension plan, settling-in allowance (RMB100,000-200,000), and research project start-up funding (RMB 40,000-200,000). Exact package will vary on a case-to-case basis.
Description of the school:
The School of Linguistic Sciences and Arts at Jiangsu Normal University is the first and only school in China specializing in linguistic research and a pioneer in neurolinguistics and one of the best research centers for linguistics study in China. It has 43 full-time staff members, who have won numerous national teaching and research awards and grants for more than 30 major research projects by China National Social Sciences Foundation and China National Science Foundation in the areas of neurolinguistics, language processing and neural mechanisms, Chinese phonology and grammar, minority languages of China, etc. It hosts the Journal of Linguistic Sciences, one of the best-known academic journals in China and one of the most-cited linguistic journals in China.
The school provides an open, dynamic research atmosphere. It holds ongoing academic cooperation and research exchanges with a number of national and international institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, China Academy of Sciences, Chinese University of Hongkong, University College London, among others. Its academic staff have published regularly in Cognition, Brain, NeuroImage and other prominent international academic journals. The school has an ERP (Neuroscan 256) lab and an fMRI (GE 3.0T) lab providing the necessary facilities for experiments in neurolinguistics, psychology and cognitive science.

Qualifications:
PhD in linguistics or related majors; strong academic publication background; teaching experience preferred; excellent Chinese and/or English competence; strong teamwork spirit.
